Your vehicle’s AC stopped working because of a failing compressor or a freon leak. While these may be the simple reason that your air-conditioner isn’t working inside the car, it might be anything as simple as a dirty cabin filter or a bad belt. No matter why or how, it can be very disappointing when cold air isn’t on to combat the hot weather outside. The most likely reason your air-conditioning isn’t working is the vehicle’s AC started leaking. The vehicle’s AC unit needs a freon to cool the ambient air temperature which creates some refreshing cold air. Whenever you want that cool air, it can’t happen if the freon leak happens. Another source that your AC isn’t producing cold air is because the car is a hybrid. The AC system uses the engine power, so if your car is in EV mode then the engine has stopped running and won’t power the air-conditioning.
If the air-conditioning is turned on and the fan stops working then there might be a blown AC fuse. These fuses protect components of a vehicle from a power surge and while it might just need to get replaced, if the air-conditioner fuse continues to pop then it’s possible there’s a larger issue at hand. There can be the possibility that the car’s AC Compressor could be affected by a low level of air-conditioner refrigerant or a possible leak that has to be repaired.
If you’ve noticed any damp spots around or in your car recently, that could be because of an air-conditioning leak in your car. For any air-conditioner to push cold air inside your car, it needs to displace all of that moisture it’s absorbed from outside and flows through the evaporator drain. This could also be caused by the AC Refrigerant level being too low which leads to the evaporator coils freezing up and an overflow of condensation. You need to keep an eye out for faulty seals in the air-conditioning compartment or the AC’s air filters if the issue continues to happen.
